IRIG - Video Insertion, Data Encoding, Time Code Readers/Generators/Translators and Time Code Displays

Instrumentation Technology Systems (ITS) specializes in the design and manufacture of video instrumentation and timing systems for the defense and industrial market. Products include both stand-alone and VMEbus & PC card  configurations.

ITS product cross reference charts:

  • ITS Video Inserters

  • ITS Time Code Generators

  • For support of Range Instrumentation, SWF manufacturers an Optical Trigger and an Acoustic Trigger have been well received by the Ranges.

    ITS 6980 Video Inserter

Video Insertion Generator ITS Model 6980

ITS Model 6980 and 6980A Video Insertion Generators provide for the insertion of alphanumeric messages and IRIG time into a standard RS-170 or NTSC video signal (6980) or RS-343, 875 line (6980A). Annotation, positioning of the IRIG time message and selection and positioning of the alarm messages can be done via the keyboard and/or the RS-232 port. The IRIG time may also be transmitted over the RS-232 port upon command from the keyboard or the RS-232 port. Seven discrete control inputs are used to enable the alarm messages with either a TTL level or a contact closure.

The ITS Model 6055B Series provides addition functions and up to 10 video inputs.

    Optical Trigger

    Optical Trigger

Twelve photodiode elements for varying types of optical regions in field of view.
Frequency response from 300NM to 700NM optically filtered. Near-IR is optional.
Electronically filtered for eliminating most false triggers, by following designed tolerances and operational conditions.
Operates to best performance on power from 18-34 VDC (optional SLA battery power is the recommended power source).
Temperature range from 20 to 120 degrees F.
High shock and vibration tolerance, within to a minimum of 60 feet of large caliber weapon muzzle, such as a Howitzer.
It will work on small caliber weapons 30-06 to 16" bullets, rockets, and missiles.
The image size of triggering object shall be 1/20 of the field of view of the 1" format.
Three sides are tapped for 3/8” mounting for proper trigger orientation.
BNC positive and negative +5 & -12 VDC outputs BNC for driving single inputs.
Indicators illuminate for high illumination levels and trigger output.
Digital trigger level adjustment for increased sensitivity.
The OT-2 is sealed from dirt and moisture (moisture resistant to light snowfall and light drizzle).

ITS Model 6475 - A two function unit that decodes and displays the IRIG B Serial Time Code and also will operate as a countdown clock. Major features include

Model 6135 - A ruggedized unit that decodes and displays an applied IRIG B Serial Time Code as Days, Hours, Minutes and Seconds on .56 inch high seven segment LED display. If there is a loss of time code signal input, the unit automatically switches to an internal clock. The displayed colons flash at a 1Hz rate to alert the operator when the time code signal is absent.

    Model 6275A
    - Decodes and displays an applied IRIG B Serial Time Code as Days, Hours, Minutes and Seconds on 1 inch high seven segment LED display. If there is a loss of time code signal input, the unit automatically switches to an internal clock. The displayed colons flash at a 1Hz rate to alert the operator when the time code signal is absent.  The unit includes a front panel intensity adjustment.
